UPDATE FOR THE CURIOUS!

The house will be listed for sale Monday, notice at work has been given and I’ve begun the process of selling all my c.r.a.p! Do you know what this means, my little dears? THIS means my grand adventure is within sight! It also means my life is poised to change DRASTICALLY.

In the many months since my last post I’ve purchased my gear,  planned the route, prepped the house to be sold and I’ve signed up for self defense classes (as per the request of my father and various other friends and acquaintances).

The route that has been decided upon:

plan2015

Sacramento → Los Angeles → Fiji → New Zealand → Australia → South East Asia → Cambodia → Vietnam → China → Japan → Mongolia → Trans Siberian railroad across Russia → Western Europe → British Isles → Iceland

WOW! FOR REAL!?! Yes. Do able in one year? Who cares, I’ll be retired! After that? South America. Or maybe Africa.

Point is: I am on my way and couldn’t be more ecstatic. Sniff sniff,  no I’m not crying I’ve got something in my eye.   😉

Hey there! February 2014 after a bit of soul searching but more of a desire to live my life differently, I made the decision to sell my house, sell all the crap that is filling up my life and hit the road for the life of a vagabond. These are my pictures, my stories and my journey...

    1. Thank you, Melanie! Trust me I’m more than a little scared, lucky for me the excitement percentage is a little bigger than the fear percentage.

  2. “All the pathos and irony of leaving one’s youth behind is thus implicit in every joyous moment of travel: one knows that the first joy can never be recovered, and the wise traveler learns not to repeat successes but tries new places all the time.” – Paul Fussell
In leaving your adult boredom behind I am so inspired by the strength you’ve shown in following through on this endeavor and even more excited to follow along from home… for now.
Safe travels and beautiful experiences to you my friend 🙂
